Respect for classical dressage and adherence to its principles are the foundation of Dave’s training philosophy.  His objective in training riders focuses on a clear understanding of how and why lightness in the hand and engagement from behind are the cornerstones of correct dressage. Only from this foundation of suppleness and engagement can horses and riders progress through the logical sequence of movements.

In addition to training Novice through Grand Prix riders, Dave also trains horses, and is comfortable working with young horses as well as “difficult” horses. Dave has a calm and reassuring style of teaching that both horses and riders appreciate.

Dave’s goal is to assist those riders interested in competitive dressage as well as riders interested in utilizing dressage principles to improve their riding skills and their horses.
